Friday, February 28, 2014 ~ Nana's Two Year Anniversary Of Passing ~ Mom & Dad Leave For Theater Of The Sea To Swim With The Dolphins ~ Mom and Dad had a great time at Theater By The Sea this morning, swimming with the dolphins. What an amazing experience, one that Mom and Dad will remember for a very long time. They are planning to take Tracy back later this year, so she can experience the magic of dolphin love! Tracy, Wilmene, Tiffany, Chris, Emerald & Ketteline Enjoy The Beautiful Sunshine Outside By The Pool ~ Tracy, Wilmene, Tiffany, Chris, Emerald, and Ketteline enjoyed the beautiful outdoors this afternoon. This weather is so beautiful; we sure hope it lasts for a long while. Mom & Dad Book A Couple's Massage This Evening After Their Swim With The Dolphins ~ Mom and Dad relaxed and enjoyed a couple's massage at the spa at the Cheeca Lodge this evening. They enjoyed the steam and the relaxation lounge prior to their couple's massage. Their massages were really amazing, just what the doctor ordered! Mom & Dad Have Dinner At The Italian Restaurant This Evening ~ Mom and Dad enjoyed a great dinner at the Italian Restaurant this evening. Mom had the most delish mussels and salad and Dad enjoyed a steamed seafood dish that smelled amazing. Ahh! We sure don't want this weekend to end! Everything Is Good At The Home Front ~ Everything seems to be going smoothly at Villa Gioia! Tiffany and Chris are doing a good job holding down the fort! Thursday, February 27, 2014 ~ Mom, Dad, Tiffany, Chris, & Aunt Diane Plan To Go Out On The Boat This Morning ~ Mom, Dad, Tiffany, Chris and Aunt Diane were hoping to go on the boat this morning when the starboard engine would not start! (Big surprise there!) The ended up hanging out at home instead. Mom, Dad, Tiffany, Chris & Aunt Diane Go To Vista Volkswagen To Pick Up Mom's New Car ~ Mom bought the coolest car, a 2014 deninm blue VW beetle convertible, complete with the new 1.8 L turbo engine. It has the technology package and a tan top and tan interior. So cute! Mom and Dad are planning on taking it with them to the Keys! Mom & Dad Leave This Evening For The Cheeca Lodge In Islamorada ~ Mom and Dad left for a three day vacation at the Cheeca Lodge in Islamorada! They drove the new convertible and are keeping their fingers crossed for some nice weather for the long weekend. Tiffany and Chris is staying with Tracy, and Tiffany's roommate Emerald arrives this evening. They should have a fun weekend too! Marcus Comes To Do Physical Therapy With Tracy This Evening ~ Marcus came to do Physical Therapy with Tracy this evening. He worked with Tracy on the peanut therapy ball, while Tracy performed her head and trunk control/strengthening exercises. Marcus applies some resistance on the back of Tracy's head while she pushes back on his hand to stabilize her head. She is really developing her head and trunk control, by strengthening her neck and trunk muscles. After the strengthening portion of her session, Tracy gets passive range of motion stretching by Marcus while relaxing in her bed. Mom & Dad Arrive At The Cheeca Lodge This Evening In Time For Sunset & Dinner ~ Mom and Dad arrived at the Cheeca Lodge in time for sunset and dinner at the Sushi restaurant on site. They are so nice and do such a good job! They even gave Mom a paraffin bath for her left thumb and wrist (navicular joint). Oh boy, did that feel good, warm wax and a heating pad! Lauderdale ~ Mom had another great Hot Vinyasa practice this morning with Caprice at the Barkan Method of Hot Yoga in Ft. Lauderdale. It was hot and steamy in the room, with awesome energy! Marcus Comes To Do Tracy's Physical Therapy Session This Evening ~ Marcus came to work with Tracy on her Physical Therapy this evening. Tracy did a good job with head and trunk control while seated on the peanut ball. She works very hard during her therapy sessions. Mom Starts Tracy Back On Vancomycin 125 mgs QID This Afternoon ~ Tracy's stool specimen tested positive for C-Diff again, so Dr. Williams prescribed another ten days of Vancomycin 125 mgs QID via her G-tube. Hopefully a second course of antibiotics will do the trick. Mom made an appointment to see Dr. Sara Buchstein, Infectious Disease doctor in Coral Springs next Friday at 2 PM. Mom, Tracy & Dad Watch The Voice This Evening ~ Mom, Dad and Tracy watched the blind auditions of The Voice this evening. The judges are really doing a good job this season; great chemistry. Mom & Uncle Johnny Go To Spinning This Morning At 31-Ten Fitness With Jenn ~ Mom and Uncle Johnny had a great Spinning class with Jenn at 31-Ten Fitness this morning. She is really enjoying Spinning twice a week to compliment her Hot Yoga practice. Mom Goes To Warm Yoga With Veronica This Afternoon At Awaken Hot Yoga Studio In Lighthouse Point ~ Mom was missing her Yoga fix and had to go to Veronica's Warm Yoga practice in Lighthouse Point. It was a great class with lots of heat and great energy. Veronica had everyone hold the poses which Mom really needed, especially after the challenging Spinning class this morning. Mom Drops Off A Stool Specimen At North Broward Medical Center Lab This Afternoon ~ Mom dropped off another stool specimen at the local hospital this afternoon. Fingers crossed regarding the results. Wilmene, Ketteline & Tracy Sit Outside By The Pool This Afternoon ~ The girls enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine this afternoon. The temperature was warm with high humidity and no wind. It had been a very long time since they visited St. Paul's. Ketteline Gives Tracy A Manicure & Pedicure This Afternoon ~ Ketteline gave Tracy a manicure and a pedicure this afternoon. Tracy Has Physical Therapy With Dee This Afternoon ~ Tracy had a good Physical Therapy session with Dee this afternoon. He worked with her on the therapy mat, stretching and ranging all of Tracy's major muscle groups. Then it was time to transfer Tracy to the peanut therapy ball where they worked on trunk and head control. Tracy is working very hard, and doing a good job with head and trunk strengthening exercises. Way to go Tracy! Her head control was not as good as last week, but her trunk control was excellent. Mom, Dad, Aunt Diane, Uncle Jeff, Tracy, Ketteline & Luca Go On The Boat This Afternoon ~ It was another beautiful day for the boat, and the gang headed out around 1 PM for cruising down the Intracoastal Waterway. There were so many boats out; the most that Mom and Dad had ever seen! Everyone had a great time; and sure did miss Uncle Johnny! Mom & Dad Enjoy The Hot Tub This Evening ~ Mom and Dad enjoyed the hot tub this evening. It was a beautiful evening, with an amazing moon rise. It was just what they needed after a very busy weekend. It was really yummy; they definitely tasted a difference in the fish. What a cool gift. It was pretty cold there, and Dad was already missing South Florida heat and humidity. Mom Goes To Amelia's Hot Yoga Practice This Morning At Annutara Yoga Shala ~ Mom had a very challenging class this morning with Amelia at Annutara Yoga Shala in Deerfield. It was the first time that Mom had taken a class with Amelia and she was very challenging. Tracy Has Physical Therapy With Marcus This Evening ~ Marcus came to do Physical Therapy with Tracy this evening. He and Ketteline transferred Tracy to the peanut therapy ball for some trunk and head control exercises. Tracy did a much better job with her head and trunk control this evening. She definitely seems to be feeling better this week. Dad Returns Very Late This Evening ~ Dad returned from Philadelphia very late this evening. He had to get ready for his early flight to New York's Laguardia Airport tomorrow morning. Argh! What a week! Sunday, February 9, 2014 ~ Mom, Dad, Darlene & Tracy Go To Hippotherapy With Susan At Bit By Bit Medical Therapy Center This Morning ~ Tracy had a great Hippotherapy session this morning. It was one of her best ones yet! She sat up so tall and demonstrated great head control. Dad and Susan were barely holding Tracy up. Tracy & Ketteline Sit Outside By The Pool ~ Tracy and Ketteline enjoyed the pretty weather outside by the pool. It is so nice out, with minimum humidity and no wind! Mom, Dad & Tracy Watch The Olympics This Evening ~ Mom, Dad and Tracy are really enjoying watching the Olympics in Sochi Russia. What a beautiful venue! Tracy Has Physical Therapy With Dee This Afternoon ~ Tracy had a good Physical Therapy session with Dee this afternoon. He worked with her on the therapy mat, stretching and ranging all of Tracy's major muscle groups. Then it was time to transfer Tracy to the peanut therapy ball where they worked on trunk and head control. She had a packed house, with amazing energy! Mom & Emil Ride To lake Worth For Mom's Monthly Hair Appointment ~ Mom and Emil took the scenic route to Lake Worth for Mom's monthly hair appointment with Kerri at the Hairnet. Uncle Johnny met us and brought everyone Starbucks! He is such a thoughtful and special person. Thursday, February 6, 2014 ~ Mom, Uncle Johnny & Emil Go Spinning At The Lighthouse Point Yacht & Racquet Club ~ Mom, Uncle Johnny and Emil had a great Spinning class with Jenn at the Yacht club this morning. What a treasure right in our own back yard. Mom is looking forward to doing more Spinning soon. Uncle Johnny had a great time too! Mom, Uncle Johnny, & Emil Have Lattes At Starbucks In Deerfield This Morning ~ Uncle Johnny treated everyone to lattes and scones at Starbucks this morning after Spinning. Aunt Diane met us there after her Physical Therapy session, and joined us for coffee. It was really a fun rendezvous. Uncle Johnny & Mom Go Kayaking This Afternoon In The Intracoastal Waterway ~ Mom and Uncle Johnny had a lot of fun kayaking in the Intracoastal Waterway this afternoon. The weather was really beautiful and they had a great time. Mom, Uncle Johnny, & Emil Enjoy The Hot Tub This Afternoon ~ Everyone had a great time relaxing in the hot tub this afternoon. It was just what they needed after a high powered Spin class. Marcus Comes To Do Physical Therapy With Tracy This Evening ~ Marcus came to do Physical Therapy with Tracy this evening. He worked with Tracy on the peanut therapy ball, while Tracy performed her head and trunk control/strengthening exercises. Marcus applies some resistance on the back of Tracy's head while she pushes back on his hand to stabilize her head. She is really developing her head and trunk control, by strengthening her neck and trunk muscles. After the strengthening portion of her session, Tracy gets passive range of motion stretching by Marcus while relaxing in her bed. Mom, Dad, Emil & Tracy Watch American Idol This Evening ~ Mom, Tracy, Emil and Dad watched American Idol this evening. There is some amazing talent this season, and the competition is heating up. It was a very challenging and hot class with lots of good energy! Tracy, Wilmene & Ketteline Enjoy The Sunshine Outside By The Pool This Afternoon ~ Tracy enjoyed a beautiful day outside by the pool. She loves to be outside with the waterfall and warm sunshine. Emil Gives Mom A Massage This Evening ~ Emil gave Mom a much-needed massage this evening. It was the best massage she ever had! It was pretty cold there, and Dad was already missing South Florida heat and humidity. Mom & Emil Go To The Deerfield Yoga Center For Raja Yoga With JoAnn Evans This Morning ~ Mom and Emil had a good class with JoAnn Evans at the Yoga Center in Deerfield. It was the first time that Mom had taken a class with JoAnn at the Yoga Center. Mom & Emil Go To The Deerfield Beach For A Quick Walk Along The Ocean ~ Mom and Emil had a nice walk on the beach at Deerfield. It was a beautiful day, with lots of sunshine and tourists. Mom & Emil Go To Kate's Warm Yoga Practice At Awaken Hot Yoga Studio In Lighthouse Point This Afternoon ~ Mom and Emil enjoyed Kate's Warm Yoga practice this afternoon. They needed to sweat, and since the Yoga Center is not hot, it was time for a detox. Tracy Has Physical Therapy With Marcus This Evening ~ Marcus came to do Physical Therapy with Tracy this evening. He and Ketteline transferred Tracy to the peanut therapy ball for some trunk and head control exercises. Tracy did a much better job with her head and trunk control this evening. She definitely seems to be feeling better this week. Emil Gives Aunt Diane A Much-Needed Massage This Afternoon ~ Aunt Diane really enjoyed a great massage by Emil this afternoon. He has a heating pad cover for his table that is amazing. She really enjoyed his healing hands. Mom & Emil Cook Salmon With Fresh Veggies & Risotto This Evening ~ Mom and Emil cooked dinner this evening: ginger salmon with fresh roasted veggies and mushroom risotto. It had been since last May since Mom went Spinning, so she paced herself. It wasn't as bad as she thought it would be! She's planning to return on Thursday for another round. Mom Goes To Warm Yoga With Veronica This Afternoon At Awaken Hot Yoga Studio In Lighthouse Point ~ Mom was missing her Yoga fix and had to go to Veronica's Warm Yoga practice in Lighthouse Point. It was a great class with lots of heat and great energy. Emil Arrives For A Visit This Afternoon ~ Emil arrived this afternoon for a visit with us this week. It has been two years since he's been here in South Florida. Apria Delivers 9 New Oxygen Tanks (E Cylinders) This Afternoon ~ Apria delivered nine new Oxygen Tanks (E cylinders) this afternoon. It had been quite a long time since they have switched out the tanks. It was a quick visit, but they all had a great time. fMom, Dad, Darlene & Tracy Go To Hippotherapy With Susan At Bit By Bit Medical Therapy Center This Morning ~ Tracy was all ready to be transferred to Chubbie when a huge rain storm came through. Susan and Dad decided to cancel Tracy's session since the rain was coming down pretty hard. Mom, Dad, Tracy, & Darlene Go To Starbucks On The Way Home ~ Mom, Dad, Tracy, and Darlene stopped off at Starbucks for some lattes and scones this morning. They are addicted to Starbucks! Mom Picks Up Gloria This Afternoon At The Trirail Station In Pompano Beach ~ Mom was so excited to see Gloria when she picked her up at the Trirail station in Pompano Beach! She is visiting us for 24 hours. Tracy Has Physical Therapy With Dee This Afternoon ~ Tracy had a good Physical Therapy session with Dee this afternoon. He worked with her on the therapy mat, stretching and ranging all of Tracy's major muscle groups. Then it was time to transfer Tracy to the peanut therapy ball where they worked on trunk and head control. Dee had to leave thirty minutes early, he had a dog emergency at home. Mom, Dad, & Gloria Go On The Boat This Afternoon ~ Mom picked up some yummy sandwiches from Offerdahls and all three jumped on the boat for a ride in the ocean. They headed south to the Hillsboro Inlet and then out in the ocean. The seas were a little rough, but they enjoyed running the engines. They headed North to Boca Inlet and into Lake Boca. What a beautiful day! The Intracoastal was much calmer and Mom and Gloria were able to get some sun on the bow. Mom, Dad. & Gloria Enjoy The Hot Tub This Afternoon ~ Mom, Dad and Gloria really enjoyed the hot tub this afternoon. What a great way to relax on this beautiful day!
