Thursday, January 30, 2014 ~ Mom Meets Keri At The Yoga Joint For Susan's Class This Morning ~ Mom had a great practice this morning with Susan and Keri at the Yoga Joint. What great energy and the temperature was perfect. Marcus Comes To Do Physical Therapy With Tracy This Evening ~ Marcus came to do Physical Therapy with Tracy this evening. He worked with Tracy on the peanut therapy ball, while Tracy performed her head and trunk control/strengthening exercises. Marcus applies some resistance on the back of Tracy's head while she pushes back on his hand to stabilize her head. She is really developing her head and trunk control, by strengthening her neck and trunk muscles. After the strengthening portion of her session, Tracy gets passive range of motion stretching by Marcus while relaxing in her bed. Mom, Dad & Tracy Watch American Idol This Evening ~ Mom, Tracy and Dad watched American Idol this evening. There is some amazing talent this season, and the competition is heating up. Tuesday, January 28, 2014 ~ Mom Skips Tracy's Ritalin Today ~ Tracy was out of Ritalin today, so she missed both doses. We had to get a new prescription and bring it to CVS to be filled. Cousin Michelle Leaves For Boston This Morning ~ Cousin Michelle left this morning for her return trip to Boston. We are going to miss her! Mom Goes To James' Ashtanga Power Hour Practice This Afternoon At Yoga South In Boca Raton ~ Mom had a great Warm Yoga class with James at Yoga South in Boca Raton this afternoon. He is a really good teacher with some firm adjustments. Mom enjoyed practicing with Christine Hodges and catching up with her on her recent life experiences. Mom Goes To Fresh Market To Pick Up Some Fresh Fruit, Veggies, & Stuffed Chicken Breasts ~ Mom went to Fresh Market after her noon yoga class. She loves shopping at Fresh Market! She picked up the best fresh organic fruit and veggies, and stuffed chicken breasts. So good! Ketteline Gives Tracy A Manicure & Pedicure This Afternoon ~ Ketteline gave Tracy a much-needed manicure and pedicure this afternoon. She does such a good job! Tracy Has Physical Therapy With Marcus This Evening ~ Marcus came to do Physical Therapy with Tracy this evening. He and Ketteline transferred Tracy to the peanut therapy ball for some trunk and head control exercises. Tracy did a much better job with her head and trunk control this evening. Monday, January 27, 2014 ~ Mom Takes The Day Off From Yoga Today ~ Mom took the day off from yoga today. Mom Has A Follow-Up Appointment With Dr. Klebsbach This Morning In Boca Raton ~ Mom and Cousin Michelle went to Mom's follow-up appointment with Dr. Klebsbach in Boca Raton. He basically said that Mom needs to keep taking the Aleve and wear the splint when it hurts. He opted to wait on the cortisone shot, saying that unless it is overwhelming pain, he does not recommend it. Mom is tough and can handle the discomfort. Tracy Still Has A Head & Chest Cold Today ~ Mom is still treating Tracy with some Guaifenesin for her chest and head congestion and Normal Saline Nasal Spray for her nasal congestion. She has the head and chest cold that Mom, Darlene and Ketteline had last week. Mom & Cousin Michelle Drive To Uncle Johnny's In Palm Beach This Afternoon ~ Mom and Cousin Michelle drove to Palm Beach to have lunch with Uncle Johnny. They shopped around Worth Avenue and then had lunch at Taboo. It was a really beautiful day, and they had a lot of fun. Wilmene, Ketteline & Tracy Sit Outside By The Pool This Afternoon ~ The girls enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine this afternoon. The temperature was cool with low humidity and no wind.

It was one of the best sessions she has had to date. She sat up tall on Chubbie and did a great job with head and trunk control. Keri was there too, and it was a really great class. Dee Comes To Do Physical Therapy With Tracy This Afternoon ~ Dee came to do Physical Therapy and massage with Tracy this afternoon. He is so good with Tracy, and she is making incremental progress with each therapy session. Mom, Dad, & Cousin Michelle Go Out In The Ocean To Run The Boat This Afternoon ~ Mom, Dad and Cousin Michelle had a great time on the boat out in the ocean. It was really fun and the weather was amazing. We definitely need to do this more often. Great class and amazing energy! Mom, Dad, Wilmene & Tracy Go To Nova Southeastern Special Needs Dental Clinic In Aventura/North Miami Beach For Tracy's Annual Checkup & Cleaning ~ Mom, Dad. Wilmene and Tracy went to Tracy's dental appointment at the Special Needs Dental Clinic at the NSU North Miami Campus. They did x-rays and a great job cleaning Tracy's teeth. The verdict is that the girls are doing an excellent job cleaning Tracy's teeth and keeping everything in tip top shape. We are forever grateful for their excellent care. Cousin Michelle Arrives This Evening ~ Cousin Michelle arrived this evening from the cold and frozen tundra: Massachusetts! She is staying with us for a few days! It was just what Mom needed today after a very busy week. Tracy Is Still Taking Gusifenesin For Her Cold ~ Mom is still giving Tracy Guaifenesin for her head cold and chest congestion. Tuesday, January 21, 2014 ~ Mom Goes To Hot Vinyasa With Jimmy At Barkan Hot Yoga Studio In Ft. Lauderdale ~ Mom had a great Hot Vinyasa yoga practice this morning with Jimmy at Barkan Hot Yoga Studio in Ft. Lauderdale. It was a perfect temperature and the poses were just what she needed. It had been several months since she had been to Jimmy's Hot Vinyasa class. It was great and she really missed it! It's Too Cold Outside For The Girls To Sit By The Pool ~ The temperatures have plummeted and it is too cold for Tracy and the girls to sit outside by the pool. The wind is expecially cool; Mom loves it this way, if even for a short time. Mom Is Still Treating Tracy's Cold With Normal Saline Nasal Spray & Guaifenesin ~ Mom is treating Tracy for her head cold with Normal Saline nasal spray and Guaifenesin. It definitely looks like she got Mom's head cold, and we are hoping she gets better fast! It was a packed house with lots of yogis at every level of ability. Mom enjoyed helping and she learned a lot and was able to use what she learned in her yoga teacher training last summer. Dee Comes To Do Physical Therapy & Massage With Tracy This Afternoon ~ Dee spent some time with Tracy on the therapy mat, working all of her major muscle groups through her passive range of motion. Tracy did a really good job with trunk and head control on the therapy ball with Dee behind her on the therapy bench. She has more rotation in her lower trunk according to Dee. Tracy Is NPO For Preparation For Her Ultrasounds & Labs At North Broward Medical Center This Afternoon ~ Tracy was not allowed to have her Jevity this morning in preparation for her bilateral breast and liver ultrasounds at North Broward Medical Center this afternoon. Tracy also had her Alkaline Phosphatase drawn since the last one was slightly elevated. Mom Starts Tracy On Vancomycin 100 mgs QID For Positive Stool Specimen ~ Dr. Williams started Tracy on Vancomycin 100 mgs QID for treatment of C-Diff. Tracy's stool specimen came back positive, even after her Flagyl dosing regimen. Please keep your fingers crossed that this resolves Tracy's C-Diff issues. Unforutnately, she stopped it because Tracy still has symptoms of C-Diff, and the antibiotics would aggrivate it. Mom Brings Another Stool Specimen To North Broward Medical Center This Morning For Analysis ~ Mom dropped off another stool specimen at North Broward Medical Center for analysis this morning. She thinks Tracy still is showing symptoms of C-Diff. She may need another round of medication. Mom Goes To Hot Flow Yoga With Keri This Morning At Awaken Hot Yoga Studio In Lighthouse Point ~ Mom had a great Hot Yoga Flow this morning with Keri at Awaken Hot Yoga in Ligthouse Point. She went for a long walk in the neighborhood after she was finished. It was the first nice day in a very long time, so she hit the sidewalk with her Ipod. It felt really good to get outside and breathe in the fresh air. She saw a 12 foot beached whale at Spanish River Park that washed in from the Keys where it had beached several weeks ago. It was decomposing, and smelled pretty bad. There were news reporters from all the major networks interviewing onlookers. They ended up closing A1A later in the day to remove the whale from the beach. Thursday, January 9, 2014 ~ Mom Goes To Kate's Hot Yoga Flow Practice This Morning At Awaken Hot Yoga In Lighthouse Point ~ Mom had a great Hot Yoga flow practice this morning with Karmic Kate at Awaken Hot Yoga Studio in Lighthouse Point. It was just what she was craving, and she wore her Power Paws wrist guards to protect her left wrist, which has been inflamed with arthritis over the past several weeks. Thank goodness for Aleve! It sure does take the edge off the joint aching. Tracy Is Still Recovering From A Head Cold This Week ~ Tracy is still recovering from a head cold that she got from Mom. The Guaifenesin and Normal Saline nasal spray are both helping to decongest Tracy. There are few medications that she is able to take. Tracy Has Physical Therapy With Marcus This Evening ~ Marcus came to do Physical Therapy with Tracy this evening. Even with her cold, Tracy did a good job this evening with head and trunk control, balancing on the peanut ball with assistance. Marcus stretched and ranged Tracy's major muscle groups, after her strengthening portion of her session. Wednesday, January 8, 2014 ~ Dad Leaves Bright & Early For His Monthly Trip To New York Laguardia Airport This Morning ~ Dad left bright and early for his monthly meeting at Laguardia. He really enjoys his monthly pilots' meetings. Mom Goes To Hot Yoga With Erika This Morning At Awaken Hot Yoga In Lighthouse Point ~ Mom had a great Hot Yoga Flow this morning with Erika at Awaken Hot Yoga Studio in Lighthouse Point. It was a fun and challenging flow, with lots of energy and heat. Mom, Wilmene, & Darlene Take Tracy To Her Annual Appointment With Dr. Williams ~ Mom, Wilmene, and Darlene took Tracy to her annual appointment with Dr. Williams this afternoon. They drew blood for chemistry labs, did a pelvic and a pap smear; so she is up to date and off to a good start for the new year. We are awaiting the results of her tests. Dad Returns From New York Laguardia Late This Evening ~ Dad returned from his monthly meeting at New York's Laguardia Airport. He sure was tired and ready for the couch! Tuesday, January 7, 2014 ~ Mom Goes To Warm Yoga With Kate This Afternoon At Awaken Hot Yoga In Lighthouse Point ~ Mom had a great warm yoga practice this afternoon with Kate at Awaken Hot Yoga Studio in Lighthouse Point. It was a perfect temperature and the poses were just what she needed. Mom Is Treating Tracy's Cold With Normal Saline Nasal Spray & Guaifenesin ~ Mom is treating Tracy for her head cold with Normal Saline nasal spray and Guaifenesin. It definitely looks like she got Mom's head cold, and we are hoping she gets better fast! Tracy Has Physical Therapy With Marcus This Evening ~ Marcus came to do Physical Therapy with Tracy this evening. He and Ketteline transferred Tracy to the peanut therapy ball for some trunk and head control exercises. Tracy was a little droopy due to her cold, but she continued to work hard. She is such a trooper, and never gives up. Dad Ends Up Not Going To Philadelphia Due To Weather ~ Dad was not able to travel to Philadelphia today, due to inclement weather up north and limited seats available on all flights. Monday, January 6, 2014 ~ Mom Gets A Much-Needed Pedicure This Morning ~ Mom had an appointment with Cindy for a much-needed pedicure this morning. She did not feel well enough for Hot Yoga, and decided to give herself one more day to heal. She had the worst weekend on the couch with a horrible head cold. Thank goodness for Fanancy and Hot Soup, NyQuil, Guaifenesin, and Halls cough drops. Now it looks like Tracy has Mom's head cold. We are trying to keep her decongested with Guaifenesin and Normal Saline nose spray. It is more difficult for her to cough, and we are keeping our fingers crossed that she won't need breathing treatments. Tracy, Wilmene, & Ketteline Spend Some Time Outside By The Pool This Afternoon ~ Mom, Wilmene, and Ketteline spent some of this afternoon outside by the pool in the sunshine. It was nice for a few hours, and the sunshine felt good. Tomorrow, we are supposed to get an artic blast. Brrr! Mom Is Feeling A Little Better This Afternoon ~ Mom's cold is feeling a little better this afternoon! Hopefully, her horrible cold is gone for good. Tracy Skips Wearing Her Hand Splints Today Because She Is Not Feeling Well ~ Tracy is congested and not feeling well today, so we gave her the day off from wearing her splints. We will try again tomorrow. Aunt Diane Brings Some Matzo Ball Soup For Dinner This Evening ~ Mom is so excited that Aunt Diane brought them matzo ball soup for dinner this evening.

She has an appointment with Dr. Krebsbach, the hand specialist, tomorrow morning at 9:15 AM. Tracy Has A Hippotherapy Session This Morning With Susan At Bit By Bit ~ Sand & Spurs In Pompano Beach ~ Tracy had a great Hippotherapy session with Susan at Sand & Spurs this morning. She sat up tall on Chubbie and held her head up throughout he thirty minute session. Mom Relaxes On The Couch With The Heating Pad On Her Left Thumb & Wrist ~ Mom was feeling a little under the weather and decided to rest on the couch for most of the day. Mom really hated to miss it, but she was feeling really bad and was confined to the couch. <Wilmene Gives Tracy A Facial This Morning ~ Wilmene gave Tracy a facial this morning. She really enjoys her spa facials. Mom Is Sick On The Couch With A Bad Head Cold Today ~ Mom spent the day on the couch working on her nursing CEUs for this biennium. She finished them all on-line in less than two hours. Dee Comes To Do Physical Therapy With Tracy This Afternoon ~ Dee came to work with Tracy on her Physical Therapy this afternoon. She did a good job on the therapy bench working on trunk and head control. Dee works with Tracy on the therapy mat, doing some thai massage and passive range of motion stretching. He does an amazing job with her, and she is really working hard. Mom & Dad Watch Football All Weekend ~ Mom and Dad watched football playoffs all weekend long. Friday, January 3, 2014 ~ Mom Goes To Veronica's Hot Yoga Flow This Morning At Awaken Hot Yoga Studio In Lighthouse Point ~ Mom had a great hot yoga flow class this morning with Veronica at Awaken Hot Yoga Studio in Lighthouse Point. It was a great class, although, she feels like she is coming down with a bad head cold. Keeping fingers crossed. Ketteline & Wilmene Dry Brush Tracy's Extremities Today ~ Ketteline and Wilmene dry brushed Tracy's extremities with her soft brush twice today. This practice helps to integrate sensory stimulation and improves circulation and skin health. Tracy really likes having her arms dry brushed. Dr. Williams Prescribes Flagyl For Tracy's C. Diff ~ Dr. Williams prescribed Flagyl for Tracy's C. Diff which showed up in her stool. She prescribed 500 mgs TID (q 8 hours) for ten days. Hopefully, this will resolve all of Tracy's GI issues. Ketteline Massages Tracy's Hands & Feet With Twisted Peppermint Lotion This Afternoon ~ Ketteline massaged Tracy's hands, arms, and feet with Twisted Peppermint lotion this afternoon. Thursday, January 2, 2014 ~ Mom Goes To Warm Yoga With Kate At Awaken Hot Yoga In Lighthouse Point This Morning ~ Mom had a great warm yoga practice with Kate this morning at Awaken Hot Yoga in Lighthouse Point. Her classes are always just what Mom needs; she must be Psychic, she is at least Karmic! Dad Has A Neurology Appointment At The VA Hospital In West Palm Beach This Morning ~ Dad had his neurology appointment at the VA Hospital in West Palm Beach. She ordered some more tests and will prescribe some new meds to alleviate the pressure he is experiencing in the left side of his face. Marcus Comes To Do Physical Therapy With Tracy This Evening ~ Marcus came to do Physical Therapy with Tracy this evening. He spent some time working with Tracy on her trunk and head control on the therapy ball in front of the full-length mirror. Tracy is making some small but significant improvements in her trunk and head control. This is especially noted when she is on Chubbie during her Hippptherapy sessions. Marcus spends a minimum of thirty minutes at the end of her 90 minute sessions, performing passive range of motion exercises, to help keep Tracy's muscles and joints flexible. Mom & Dad Begin To Take Down The Christmas Tree Decorations Today~ Amidst the many football playoff games, Mom and Dad managed to take down many of the Christmas decorations around the house.
