Thursday, July 31st, 2003 ~

Tiff stayed with Tracy last night and they both slept well. During Speech, Tracy swallowed 4 ozs (half a cup) of a strawberry yogurt smoothie. She is closing her mouth and putting her lips together more and more on her own. The goal is for Tracy to eat a minimum of 2 ozs five times a week. She is well on the way to getting the J-tube out! During OT, Tracy practiced using a special switch to turn the radio on and off. During PT today, Marlena iced Tracy's hamstring, hip flexor and biceps to help with stretching. Cousins Guy, Dawn and Sophia arrive Friday! Nana and Uncle Johnny arrive on Monday! We can't wait to see them! Dad returns home this evening from his conference on the West Coast.

Wednesday, July 30th, 2003 ~

Mom stayed with Tracy last night and Tracy didn't fall asleep until about 1am. She was upset for most of the evening. Tracy worked on pushing a button with her left pointer finger during OT today. She was kinda sleepy, but she pushed it a few times! The button will soon be connected to a radio, so Tracy will have control and be able to turn the radio on and off! Tracy missed PT today because she had to go down to x-ray to get her bi-weekly venus-doplar done. During speech, Tracy had some water that her speech therapist gave her. Once, Tracy even but her mouth around the bottle! She swallowed everything right away and had a little over 2 ounces. She also had some apple sauce. The goal is for her to eat a good amount five times a week during speech sessions.

Tuesday, July 29th, 2003 ~

I stayed with Tracy last night and she slept pretty well. We showered Tracy this morning and got her all nice and clean. During OT, Kate worked with Tracy's wrists and checked out Tracy's new splints. Tracy also sat at the edge of the mat with help. She held herself up (minus her head) in a sitting position while leaning her elbows on a table. During PT, Tracy was prone (on her tummy) for about 15 minutes and she handled it well. It's a great position and allows Tracy's therapist to stretch her back and hips really well. Tracy took a bite out of a fudgecicle during speech and swallowed it right down. She also had a few sips of water and worked on identifying objects. When asked if she wanted a yogurt "light and lively" shake, Tracy mouthed the word "no," putting her lips in an "o" shape and even made an "o" sound. She is getting close to talking!

Monday, July 28th, 2003 ~

Mom and Tracy had a another sleep over last night and Tracy slept well. During OT, Tracy was pretty agitated, so Kate just stretchd her arms. However, during speech, Tracy had some sips of wildberry juice and she actually put her lips around the cup when her speech therapist put it to her mouth! Tracy also had some more chocolate protein shake. She relaxed during her daily hand and arm massages with Adrienne and rested this afternoon. During PT, Tracy's legs were stretched and when her leg was hanging over the bed, Tracy pulled it up onto the bed!

Sunday, July 27th, 2003 ~

Mom and Tracy had a sleepover last night and Tracy rested off and on. Today has been a pretty lazy day. Tracy was up in her chair for a few hours this afternoon and had half a box of chocolate mighty shake (a protein drink). She really seems to enjoy them. Mom fed her and we are so happy that Tracy continues to progress with in the eating dept. Tracy has a busy week of therapy ahead of her. We are letting her rest this evening and she has been listening to Norah Jones and John Mayer. Aunt Kathy Sue, Uncle Frank, Kathryn Jean, Caroline, and Elizabeth went home to Louisiana early this morning. We really enjoyed their visit! Thanks for bringing Tracy some adorable PJ's to add to her collection!

Saturday, July 26th, 2003 ~

Aunt Kathy Sue stayed with Tracy last night and Trace slept very well. Tracy had a half day of therapy today. During OT, Tracy sat at the edge of the therapy mat and leaned on a table with help. She was pretty sleepy though! During PT, Tracy was stretched and ranged while in bed. Aunt Kathy Sue helped the therapist stretch Tracy's legs. Mom fed Tracy some rootbeer float icecream and she had about six bites. She did a great job swallowing everything down. During speech, Tracy was pretty sleepy and full from the rootbeer float icecream Mom fed her. Aunt Kathy Sue, Uncle Frank, Kathryn Jean, Caroline, and Elizabeth visited with Tracy.

Friday, July 25th, 2003 ~

Aunt Kathy Sue stayed with Tracy last night and Trace got some much needed rest. This morning, Tracy's legs were stretched during PT and cousin Elizabeth helped out! During OT, Tracy's wrist splints were adjusted and the therapist worked on getting a large switch that Tracy can control with her left pointer finger. When she learns how to control the switch, Tracy will be able to turn the TV and Radio on and off. During PT, With help, Tracy sat up at the edge of the mat in the therapy room and leaned her forearms on a table. She held her head up all by herself and continued to pick it up throughout the session. Tracy even sat up for awhile by herself and when she felt like she was falling back, she pulled her body forward. During speech, Tracy had about 3 ounces of vanilla protein shake. She is really getting good at eating! She swallowed on command and then identified a bottle of Barq's Rootbeer (her therapist held up two items, a brush and the bottle of rootbeer) by looking at it with her eyes. Her reward was a sip of rootbeer! Tracy swallowed it right away! Aunt Kathy Sue, Uncle Frank, and the girls are visiting us. Charles is here for the weekend as well.

Thursday, July 24th, 2003 ~

Mom spent the night with Tracy and they both had a good night. During OT, Tracy was positioned on the side of the bed and put weight through her arms and shoulders while leaning on the bedside table. During PT, Tracy is working on kicking her legs out  (one at a time) while dangling over the edge of the mat. During ST, Tracy is working on eating, swallowing and talking. Tracy is getting fed through her G-tube every 3 hours during the day now, to get her stomach ready to eat real food. The goal is for Tracy to get her J-tube (jejunum)  removed soon and be fed through her G-tube (stomach).  Once she is eating well, the G-tube will then be removed. Aunt Kathy Sue, Uncle Frank, and the girls are visiting us.

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2003~

Dad spent last night with Tracy and neither of them slept well.  Tracy was sleepy most  of the day.  Tracy's Occupational and Speech Therapists cotreated, working on some new skill building exercises.  They are working with Tracy's left arm and hand to get her to use her index finger to eventually point at her Yes and No signs.  This will help her communicate until she is talking.  She is still getting used to moving her shoulder and needs support to use her arm.  This exercise will help to strengthen her arm so that she can move it back and forth.  Tracy was pretty sleepy during Speech and wasn't into eating this morning.  Aunt Kathy Sue, Uncle Frank, Kathryn Jean, Caroline, and Elizabeth arrived today and we are all glad to see them.

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2003~

Mom spent last night with Tracy and they both slept well.  Tracy had a Terrific Tuesday!  Kate, Tracy's OT, Becky, Tracy's Rec Therapist, Tiffany and Mom took Tracy to the US Botanic Garden in downtown DC!  It was Tracy's first outing in the NRH van and she did GREAT!  Mom and Tiff did a good job navigating Tracy's wheel chair through the tourists.   During Speech, Jen fed Tracy eight spoonsful of lemon sorbet and Tracy swallowed them all, displaying all of the correct tongue and mouth movements.  She also had four sips of apple nectar slush and tolerated them well.  Tracy continues to work on closing her mouth and putting her lips together on command.  In PT, Marlena and Rob, a visiting intern from Atlanta's Emory University, positioned Tracy on her knees and propped her arms on a long bolster to put weight on her knees and to extend her back and hips.  While lying on her back with her legs dangling off the side, Tracy was able to extend and bend each leg separately on command.  We can't wait for Aunt Kathy Sue, Uncle Frank and the girls to visit this Wednesday.

Monday, July 21st, 2003~

Tiffany spent the night with Tracy and they both slept well.  Tiffany is in class all this week, working on a Master's in communication from the University of Oklahoma.  She is working hard on a take-home exam!  I know that she will be a lot more happy when this class is done!  Go Tiff!  Tracy had a magnificent Monday in therapy.  During Speech, Jen fed Tracy ten spoonsful of lemon sorbet and Tracy swallowed them all, displaying all of the correct tongue and mouth movements.  She is also working on closing her mouth and putting her lips together on command.  In OT, Kate made Tracy some new wrist splints to keep her hands and wrists in the proper position.  During PT, Marlena and Mom positioned Tracy on a long bolster to stretch her chest muscles.  Tracy also rolled to the right and left with minimal assistance.  She is really getting good at that! Uncle Mike and Aunt Cheryl left today and we already miss them!  They were a huge help!  We can't wait for Aunt Kathy Sue, Uncle Frank and the girls to visit this Wednesday.  Thank you Aunt Diane for the cute little teddy bear.

Sunday, July 20th, 2003~

Aunt Cheryl spent the night with Tracy last night and they both had a well deserved night's rest.  Tracy went to Mass with Mom and Dad on the second floor of NRH.  Tiffany had class this week, so she is burning the midnight oil!  Even though Tracy had the day off from therapy, Dad, Aunt Cheryl, Mom and Uncle Mike stretched her and practiced rolling on the mat.  Mom fed Tracy some chocolate ice cream and Tracy swallowed three bites, displaying all of the correct tongue and mouth movements.  We all spent some time outside today in the beautiful Therapeutic Garden.  The weather is finally pretty!  Uncle Mike and Aunt Cheryl are visiting and are a HUGE help!  We can't wait for Aunt Kathy Sue, Uncle Frank and the girls to visit this Wednesday.

Saturday, July 19th, 2003~

Uncle Mike, who's a nuclear medicine technologist, stayed with Tracy last night. Once again, Tracy didn't get much sleep. During OT today, Tracy sat up at the edge of the mat in the atrium and worked on head control. She did a great job of holding her head up. Her therapist, Kate, used an air cast on her right arm to stretch it out. Kate cotreated with Speech to help Tracy with eating more coffee ice cream.  This time Kate held Tracy's left arm/hand and positioned a spoon in her hand to get her used to feeding herself.  She practiced using her tongue to move the ice cream back. In PT, Tracy was positioned prone (on her stomach) and put weight through her shoulders.  Tracy also was able to get extension through her hips in this position.  Uncle Mike and Aunt Cheryl are visiting and are a HUGE help!

Friday, July 18th, 2003~

Aunt Cheryl, who's a nurse, stayed with Tracy last night. However, Tracy didn't get much sleep. During OT today, Tracy sat up at the edge of the mat in the atrium and worked on head control. She did a great job of holding her head up. Tracy's therapist used an air cast on her right arm to stretch it out. She also worked on bending her left index finger, however she was pretty tired. During PT, Tracy rolled to the right while laying on the therapy mat in the therapy room. She is getting pretty good at rolling on the mat and her goal is to completly roll onto one side within a two minute time limit. During speech, Tracy had some pureed pineapple and some apple juice. She swallowed most of it and did the correct munching/tongue movements! She had a GREAT speech week and hopefully she'll continue to progress in the eating department! The Rand Family sent Tracy a big box of goodies to help with her therapy. All fun stuff, including lolly-pops, sqeeze balls, wrapsters, and bubble makers! Thank you! Uncle Mike and Aunt Cheryl are visiting and are a HUGE help!

Thursday, July 17th, 2003 ~

Mom stayed with Tracy last night and she slept well. Mom and I showered Tracy this morning and she really enjoyed it! Mom and I took Tracy for a ride around the atrium before her therapy started. Tracy had OT and Speech in the therapy room and sat up at the edge of the mat while working on bending her left pointer finger. She sat on the mat while leaning her elbows on a table and sat up all on her own! She just needed some help with her head! It was great. During OT, Tracy rolled to the right and left fairly quickly with minimum help. Plus, she was so close to picking her head up on her own while sitting straight up! During PT, Tracy's feet were assessed by a new doctor. Tracy had some chocolate icecream during speech and ate about five bites. She is really doing a great job eating! Tracy had her hair trimmed by our friend Dario yesterday! Thanks Dario! Tracy received a beautiful bouquet of flowers and balloons from Allison, Debbie, and Marty! Thanks guys! Uncle Mike and Aunt Cheryl are visiting!

Wednesday, July 16th, 2003 ~

Tracy finally calmed down last night around 10pm or so and I stayed with her. She had her cast removed from her right arm this morning and she handled it well. The cast will be bi-valved so she can wear it at night. This allows Tracy's right arm to maintain a deep stretch over 7 hours. During PT, Tracy was on a mat and had her hips stretched. Trace had a lot of ice cream today! She had some coffee icecream and some lemon sorbet. She did the correct munching and swallowing motions and she even swallowed on command again! Please pray that she continues to progress in the eating department. When Tracy is able to eat real food, we shall celebrate! Tracy also looked at her feelings chart, letting us know she felt OK. She even made her mouth into an "O" shape! This afternoon, Tracy had her hair trimmed by our friend Dario! Thanks Dario! Yesterday, Tracy received a beautiful bouquet of flowers and balloons from Allison, Debbie, and Marty!

Tuesday, July 15th, 2003 ~ Six Months since Car Incident

"Where there is great love, there are always miracles." --Willa Cather

Tracy slept well last night and Mom stayed with her. Early this morning Tracy had her right arm casted in order to make a bi-valve cast that she can wear just at night. The cast is still on her and will be cut off tomorrow morning. She has been pretty agitated today b/c of the cast and had a slow day of therapy. She tried to have a bite of coffee icecream during speech, but she was too uncomfortable. During her range of motion session with Jana, Tracy relaxed into the leg stretches. Tracy was supposed to get up on her knees again during PT, but she was too preoccupied by the cast. She did tell us by looking at her "yes" and "no" cards that she wanted to try to get on her knees. So, at least she tried! Tracy's OT padded Tracy's cast this afternoon in order to make it more comfortable throughout the night. During speech this afternoon, Tracy mouthed the word "HI" and worked on talking. She also had a few bites of coffee icecream again. She chose that over Lemon flavored Italian Ice.

Monday, July 14th, 2003 ~

I stayed with Trace last night and she slept well. During OT, Tracy used her left pointer finger to press the "on" and "off" button on the TV remote control! Her therapist held her arm up in space and then Tracy pressed away! She also worked on sitting up at the edge of the mat and she is arching her back more and more each time. Mr. Eggert visited during Tracy's OT session and was very impressed! During speech, Tracy had over TEN teaspoons of coffee icecream! She did the correct mouth and tongue movements and even swallowed on command with her lips closed! This is huge progress! I guess we just weren't feeding her the right stuff! Tracy's right arm will be casted again tomorrow in order to make another bi-valve cast that she can wear at night. Tracy also had an xray of her tummy again today to make sure the new food and medicine are working properly. Uncle Mike and Aunt Cheryl come on Thurs! Thanks to the Rand family for all the goodies they brought Tracy yesterday, including the beautiful photography book and Beignet a Du! Betty, thanks for the adorbale Venetian Teddy Bear.

Sunday, July 13th, 2003 ~

Dad stayed with Tracy and she slept well. Tracy's friend Allison, Allison's Mom, Debbie, and their friend Marty came to visit Tracy today all the way from Miami! Debbie and Marty are both speech therapists and had "sessions" with Tracy all day in order to evaluate her and teach us techniques. They both think that Tracy has "apraxia," which means that all the words are there, but she just doesn't have the motor skills YET to talk. Both are very positive that Tracy will talk in the next couple of months! They worked on getting Tracy to bring her tongue forward, close her mouth, and make various sounds. Debbie used bubblegum flavored gloves, cherry flavored tongue depressors, and a watermelon lolli-pop to stimulate Tracy's tongue. Tracy made sounds such as "ahh" in order to form the word "Ma." We all took Tracy outside for a break in the sun and then took a stroll through Independence Square. Mamaw and Papaw were able to watch Debbie and Marty work with Tracy before they headed back to Louisiana this evening. Allison, Debbie, and Marty headed home as well and Charles had to leave this morning. Uncle Mike and Aunt Cheryl are coming to visit next week!

Saturday, July 12th, 2003 ~

Dad stayed with Tracy last night and she slept well. She had a half day of therapy today. During OT she sat up at the edge of her bed with help and during PT she was stretched and ranged. Mom, Dad, Mamaw, Papaw, Charles and I had lunch with Tracy down in the cafeteria. I only wish that Tracy could have some of the bbq with us! Then we took Tracy outside for a bit by the fountains in the garden and we smelled some magnolias. During speech Tracy worked on talking, but she was pretty sleepy. She said "OW!" again last night during her bedtime bath! During PT, Tracy was out on the mat in the atrium and we got her "prone" (on her tummy) again. She was prone for 20 minutes and handled it well. Mamaw, Papaw, and Charles are visiting until tomorrow. It's so great to see them. Thanks Rene' for sending some more goodies for Trace!

Friday, July 11th, 2003 ~

Tracy slept well last night with Mom here at NRH. We took Tracy to the Washington Hospital Center next door to have a stomach test done. Everything went well and hopefully we are close to cracking the case of the upset tummy. Tracy missed some therapy today, but during OT she dialed some numbers on the telephone! Tracy actually moved her left arm (her therapist held it up for her) and used her pointer finger to press buttons on her hospital phone. It was pretty cool! Now she has to start talking so she can dial everyone up and say "Ciao Bella!" She also lifted her left thumb up again for us! During PT she was stretched and during speech she had some coffee ice cream. She got some of the coffee ice cream down with a few tongue pumps and swallows. It would make life a lot easier if she could eat orally. Hopefully soon! Mamaw and Papaw are visiting until Sunday! It's so great to see them. Thanks Rene' for sending some more goodies for Trace!

Thursday, July 10th, 2003 ~

Tracy and I had a sleepover and thankfully she got some much needed sleep. I read Tracy some of our books from when we were little. We read "If you give a mouse a cookie", " There's a monster under my bed," and "One little monkey". Thanks Guy and Dawn for sending them! Mom and I showered Tracy this morning before she was covered in doggy kisses! Taylor, the therapy black lab, came to visit Tracy again today! Tracy was on a mat in the atrium and she rolled to her left in order to lay down with Taylor. The therapist stretched her arm over Taylor so she could give him a big hug! She then rolled to her right and stretched her left arm over him. Tracy actually moved her left arm in order to pet Taylor and she bent her left pointer finger again! Pretty incredible! During PT, we got Tracy up on her knees. She was standing tall on her knees and had her arms on a large cylinder. We held her up, but she was able to arch her back and handled it well. During speech, Tracy had some baby banana's and she swallowed three mouthsfull!

Wednesday, July 9th, 2003 ~

Dad stayed with Tracy to ensure that everything went smoothly through the night. Tracy finally went to sleep and has been very tired all day. Her tummy seems to be feeling better and Tracy's Doctors' are working on fixing the problem. Mamaw and Papaw arrived today and it's so good to see them! During OT, Tracy bent her left pointer finger down about three times! That is pretty incredible and she even held it down in a bent position. Now she can lift her left thumb and bend her left pointer finger. It's HUGE progress! Tracy's hips and legs were stretched and ranged and she was much more relaxed today. During speech Tracy had one bite of peach apple sauce and swallowed the majority of it. Mom was harrassing Tracy by tickling her feet and Tracy got pretty pissed. Her therapist saw her mouth the word "STOP!" Plus, during her evening bath, Tracy said "OW!" when the nurse's aid was turning her, b/c she felt pain!! That's a FIRST! Also, we are trying to read some children's books to Trace to get things going (Guy and Dawn sent some of our old books!)

Tuesday, July 8th, 2003 ~

Tracy was very uncomfortable last night. Mom stayed with her, but neither one of them slept. Tracy had OT this morning and she worked on sitting up on the edge of the mat. She initiated arching her back and attempted to relax her shoulders. She also rolled to the left side faster than she has in awhile. Tracy's therapist massaged her shoulders in order to keep them loose. Tracy's PT attempted to get Tracy on her knees, however, Tracy was pretty uncomfortable. Instead, her PT stretched and ranged Tracy's legs. Tracy had another stomach xray this afternoon and it seems that her tummy isn't digesting stuff fast enough. This is causing her much discomfort and hopefully the problem can be fixed soon. Tracy was very agitated during Speech, but she did make some "uhuh" sounds and let us know that her tummy was hurting by looking at her "yes" and "no" cards. Mamaw and Papaw come tomorrow! Thanks Eileen and Chip for the cute Elephant!

Monday, July 7th, 2003 ~

Charles and I stayed with Tracy last night and we all watched Miss Congeniality. During OT, Tracy sat at the edge of the therapy mat with help and initiated arching her back!  She also worked on rolling and she had to completely roll onto one side within 2 minutes. It is easier for Tracy to roll onto her right side. A therapeutic recreation therapist visited us today in order to see what kind of activities Tracy likes. Hopefully we will get to take her around DC to places like the Zoo and the museums. Tracy was prone (on her tummy) during PT and handled it well. She looked at a picture of Uncle Johnny and Nana and made some "NNN" sounds! :) Tracy had her best "speech" session yet! She worked on talking and made "hi" sounds, "no" sounds, and even "mom" sounds. She became very frustrated and started talking like the "Tin Man" (jaw clenched) again, saying "I can't" and "I hate this." Rene' and Charles left today and Mamaw and Papaw come Wed!

Sunday, July 6th, 2003 ~

Tracy rested last night with Cousin Rene' and Mom. We took Tracy to Mass downstairs in the therapy room this morning. She slept through most of Mass and then we took her outside for a bit. We saw some birds in the yard and took a stroll around the garden. Tracy rested most of the day and Dad massaged and stretched her legs and arms this afternoon to keep her in tip-top-shape. Tracy raised her thumb when Dad asked her to and then she put it back down onto her hand. It took her awhile, but she did it! She also bent her pointer finger on her left hand! Things are starting to "come alive" again. Keep praying!! Christine left this morning and Cousin Rene' and Charles leave tomorrow.

Saturday, July 5th, 2003 ~

Tracy finally calmed down around 3am and has been pretty sleepy all day. Dad stayed with her last night and Rene and Mom will be staying with Trace tonight. Tracy had a half day of therapy today since it is a Saturday. She was stretched and ranged in bed during PT and then we took her outside for a bit. It's HOT! We also took Tracy to Independence Square and had her identify fruit. Dad held up an apple and a banana and asked Tracy to look at the banana. Not only did she look at it, but she also made a "banana" type sound! Tracy had PT out on the rehab mats and was prone (on her stomach). She had a very small amount vanilla pudding during speech, but didn't swallow much of it since she was pretty tired. During OT her shoulders were stretched and she did a great job of maintaining eye contact with the therapist. Cousin Rene', Christine, and Charles are visiting for the Fourth.

Friday, July 4th, 2003 ~ Happy 4th of July! Happy B'day Rene and Betty!

Dad stayed with Tracy last night and she rested well. She had a half day of therapy b/c of the holiday and had many visitors. Tracy had OT and PT in her room and was stretched and ranged. During PT she rolled onto her side and her therapist stretched her hips. Tracy was supposed to have another massage today but she was pretty agitated. She seems pretty upset this afternoon and I think she is wishing she was out on the boat at Snipe's Point in Key West! Dad is going to stay with Tracy again tonight and hopefully they will get to watch the Wimbledon's men's semi-finals match. Cousin Rene is visiting from Pensacola, Christine is visiting from NYC and Charles is here from VA Beach.

Thursday, July 3rd, 2003 ~ Happy B'day Cousin Guy!

Mom and Cousin Rene stayed with Tracy last night and she slept well. Thankfully, Tracy's tummy Dr. was able to do the stomach procedure in her room and everything is working well now. Tracy had OT in the atrium this morning. Heating pads were applied to her shoulders and arms in order to relax her muscles. Then Tracy's OT stretched and massaged Tracy's arms and shoulders. Tracy was pretty sleepy during her morning speech session and she was stretched and ranged during PT. She also worked on rolling during her afternoon PT session. During speech this afternoon, Tracy's therapist gave Tracy a choice between strawberry applesauce and banana applesauce. Tracy was pretty sleepy, but she finally chose banana. It's still hard for her to chew and swallow, but practice makes perfect! Cousin Rene is visiting from Pensacola, FL and Christine and Charles arrived this afternoon.

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2003 ~

I stayed with Tracy last night and she slept well, however her feeding tube stopped working. She had her stomach x-rayed this morning and we found out that the tube has coiled in the wrong place, so Tracy will have another stomach procedure tomorrow at Washington Hospital Center to fix it. Mom and Tracy's OT took Tracy to the gift shop at Washington Hospital Center across the street this morning. Tracy looked at suncatchers and identified the one with a bald eagle and the American Flag with her eyes, so Mom bought it for her. Hopefully soon we can take Tracy to the Zoo to see the Bald Eagle exhibit. Tracy practiced talking during speech making sounds that sounded alot like "NO!" She also answered questions with her "yes" and "no" cards concerning whether or not she likes massages! Well, we now have a massage therapist who will be visiting Tracy twice a week. She really relaxed during her massage session and extremely benefited from it!

Tuesday, July 1st, 2003 ~

Feel free to write Tracy a message of encouragement in her Guest Book located below. Mom stayed with Tracy last night and she rested off and on. Tracy had OT in the atrium and her shoulders and arms were stretched and massaged. During PT, Tracy was in the therapy room and was getting her legs stretched when she decided to roll onto her right side. Tracy's PT continued to stretch Tracy's legs and hips and had her roll onto her back and then onto her left side (with help). This afternoon, Tracy's OT, Mom, and I took Tracy out to the tennis court. Tracy's OT helped her hold onto a tennis racket and stretched her right arm out. I tossed a tennis ball at the racket and Tracy initiated movement in her arm, attempting to swing. She needed alot of help, but it was a great experience. We watched Serena, Tracy's fav, beat Jennifer Capriati in the quarter finals of Wimbledon!  Tracy's case manager and Dr. from Bethesda came by today and were impressed with Tracy's progress! Cousin Rene comes Wed and Christine and Charles come Thurs.
